2010-2011 SEASON TRYOUTS
Come check out the Solana Beach CATS for the upcomig season. All tryouts are at the Big Gym at Santa Fe Christian:
August 1: 4:00 - 8:30 p.m., Open Tryouts for 4th - 8th grade boys and girls
August 4: 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., All-Star Tryouts ONLY for 5th - 8th grade
August 8: 4:00 - 8:30 p.m., Open Tryouts for 4th - 8th grade boys and girls
August 11: 4:00 - 8:30 p.m., All-Star Tryouts ONLY for 5th - 8th grade
Individual grade tryouts times for August 1 and August 8 Open Tryouts:
- 4th and 5th grade boys: 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.
- 6th and 7th grade boys: 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.
- 8th grade boys: 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
- 5th - 8th grade girls: 7:00 - 8:15 p.m.
Individual grade tryout times for August 4 and August 11 All-Star Tryouts:
- 5th and 6th grade: 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.
- 7th grade: 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
- 8th grade: 7:00 - 8:00 p.m.
- Mandatory parent meeting from 8:00 - 9:00 p.m. for all tryout participants

CATS WIN 2010 MAUI CLASSIC
SBC came back from Maui winning the 2010 Maui Summer Classic at the Lahaina Civic Center, where the annual NCAA Maui Invitational is played. After going 1-2 in pool play, the CATS won each game in bracket play by 20+ points to punch their ticket to the championship game. Matched up against the Up Country Elite, a team the CATS lost to by 3 in pool play, SBC grabbed an early lead and never looked back. The CATS defended their title and are the reigning back-to-back champions of the Maui Classic!!!
A SUCCESSFUL CLOSE TO THE SPRING SEASON
17 teams ompeted this Spring Season for SBC with 14 teams making league playoffs, 5 teams making league finals, and 1 team winning the league championship. Great job CATS!
Congratulations to the 8th Grade All-Star team for winning the League Championship, beating the Sundevils 43-19! A fantastic close to the the 8th grade season.

2010 CATS DADS VS. 8TH GRADE GAME: SBC 8th Grade 66 - SBC Dad's 60
The annual CATS Dads vs. 8th Grade game took place Sunday May 9 at Santa Fe Christian. What a great way to enjoy Mother's Day- having Mom's watching their son's beat up on the dad's! A late run by the dad's wasn't enough as the 8th Graders held on for a 66-60 victory. Brian Finley led the 8th graders in scoring with 20 points and Dr. Drew Peterson finished with 16 points for the dad's!
2010 CATS COACHES VS. 8TH GRADE GAME: SBC Alumni 76 - SBC 8th Grade 69
SBC welcomed back last years alumni to take on the current SBC 8th graders Sunday May 2 in the annual Alumni Game. SBC Alumni featured players starting on various Freshman, JV, and Varsity teams locally in San Diego. It was a close game from being to end, as the 8th Grade team was led by Luke Wilkins (18 points, 6 three point shots), but the alumni came out with the victory.
2010 CATS COACHES VS. 8TH GRADE GAME: SBC Coaches 74 - SBC 8th Grade 65
The annual CATS Coaches vs. 8th Grade game was played Sunday April 25 at Santa Fe Christian. CATS parents and players showed up hoping for an upset, but the coaches had other plans. After a close first half, the coaches pulled away as Coach Cook had 21 points in the first half. The coaches built a 15+ point lead, but the 8th Grade team came back with some late three-point shots and a few "and-one's"). In the end, the coaches held on with a 74-65 victory.

SBC Tryouts will be held August 1 and August 8 at Santa Fe Christian High School for 4th-8th grade Boys and Girls. Come check out the largest club basketball program in San Diego! More information will be posted soon!

CATS COME BACK FROM SGV INVITATIONAL
SBC returned this past week from the SGV Invitational in Anaheim, CA, one of the largest tournaments in Southern California. Congraluations to all our teams for a job well done. Some highlights:
- 5th Grade: 5-1, 2nd Place
- 6th Grade: 3-2, 4th Place
- 7th Grade: 3-2, 3rd Place
- 8th Greade: 5-1, 2nd Place

CATS ALUMNI ENJOYING GREAT SUCCESS
Our mission statement is simple- GET READY FOR HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL. Of the past two graduating SBC classes, 24 players are playing at the high school level! Some highlights:
- 24 players playing at 11 different North County high schools, of which 20 are starting
- 5 players starting on their freshman teams
- 9 players playing on their JV teams, of which 8 are starting
- 10 players playing on their Varsity teams, of which many start on JV and play Varisty while 2 are starting on Varsity
This is why we do what we do... Getting our young men and women ready to play at the next level. Congratulations to all our CATS Alumni!!!
2009 SBC HOLIDAY INVITATIONAL
The 1st Annual SBC Holiday Invitational took place at SFC as the Solana Beach Cats raised money and collected toys and food for local charities. 8th Grade Boys teams from SGV, Poway Titans, Game Point, and SBC took part in the one-day tournament.
The CATS 8th Grade All-Star team won the championship!!!

CATS BASKETBALL SHOES NOW AVAILABLE
The OFFICIAL CATS basketball shoe is now available!!! We are the only club program to have our own shoe! All sizes are still available and can be purchased online. Go to the bottom of the home page and select "Make a Payment". CATS shoes are $50 for 1 pair and $90 for 2 pairs!
SKILLS NIGHT DEVELOPMENT SPOTS STILL AVAILABLE
6 Development spots are available! Come to Skills Nights on Thursday Nights at SFC (838 Academy Drive, Solana Beach, CA).
7-8 p.m.: All Girls teams; 4th and 5th Grade Boys
8-9 p.m.: 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Boys
